“The NCP has made its stand clear when our national spokesperson D P Tripathi made a statement in Delhi ruling out any apology.” He was speaking at a press conference organized at Rashtrawadi Bhavan to admit disgruntled Shiv Sena MLC and trade union leader Kiran Pavaskar into the NCP camp.
Patil, the Maharashtra home minister, was also present at the press conference but declined to make any further comment. On Wednesday he had said that he would check the information with the Mumbai police. Patil had said during the last winter session of the state legislature that there was no record with Mumbai police to show that Digvijay Singh had held a telephonic conversation with Karkare.
